Job Description:Operates cardiac ultrasound equipment in order to provide optimal cardiac ultrasound studies according to heart station protocol. Includes patient scheduling and prioritization, technical ability, documentation and follow-up. Participates in orientation and instruction of students and assigned personnel. Collaborates with other staff and physicians for optimal patient care. Operates other cardiac equipment needed.BR>
Minimum Requirements: Successful completion of formal education program in cardiac ultrasound, or must have had previous on-the-job training in cardiac ultrasound and have experience in performance of cardiac ultrasound testing. If not currently registered, must obtain registration within one year of being hired. Thorough knowledge of cardiac ultrasound physics, cardiac anatomy and physiology. Demonstrates eye-hand coordination, mechanical and analytical aptitude. Demonstrates initiative and is able to function independently as well as interdependently. Demonstrates ability to interact and communicate effectively with physicians, patients and hospital staff. Demonstrates computer skills. Ability to transport ultrasound equipment to all patient locations. Able to multitask and work under stress. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year experience performing adult and pediatric cardiac ultrasound. Registered/certified in a recognized national cardiac association or eligibility thereof. Experience in stress echo and TEE. Registration through national organization in cardiac ultrasound.
Licensure and Certifications: Current BLS RDCS/RCT
Influenza vaccination is required for all colleagues with patient contact unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice, and is strongly encouraged for all colleagues.
